Rockmelons are in good supply from North Queensland and a great value option this week. The sweet flesh is great as a refreshing snack and can be added to savoury salads. Add Rockmelon to your breakfast with these Sweet Quinoa & Rockmelon Bowls.

Another Far North Queensland fruit, Watermelon is in good supply at your local fruit and veg shop. This refreshing and hydrating fruit is a great pick me up on a hot summer’s day. Why not try this tasty Watermelon, Cucumber and Basil Cooler and have a sip of summer in a glass.

You can now enjoy a good supply of fresh Rhubarb, from Toowoomba, New South Wales or Victoria in your shopping basket. Fresh Rhubarb is very versatile and can be added to sweet or savoury meals. Pick up some Rhubarb this week and try this Springtime Ham with Rhubarb Sauce.

Tasty, plump Strawberries are still in good supply at your local fruit and veg shop direct from the Sunshine Coast. Ready to go as a great “go to” snack, these will be hard to pass up.

Fresh Ginger from the Sunshine Coast is in plentiful supply at your local fruit and veg shop. Perfect for healthy, flavourful stir-fries, juices and homemade dumplings. Ginger can also be pickled, steeped in boiling water to make a herbal tea, made into candied ginger or into ginger wine.

The warmer weather brings great quality, GourmetGrape and Cherry Tomatoes from Bowen to your local fruit and veg shop. With several varieties available, there’s a Tomato to suit everyone! Either tossed into a salad or roasted into a tomato sauce for pasta or pizza. For a simple dish that highlights tomatoes and is easy to prep, try out this Cherry Tomato and Basil Tart this week, it’s a dish the whole family will love!

Broad Beans from New South Wales are in abundance this week and are a great spring option. They are a great source of protein and are a lovely accompaniment to fish or added to pasta. Simply remove the beans from the pod and blanch to prepare!
